Rock Band
The year is 1989. Fugazi records a new and powerful album (Repeater) showing the aggressive hard-core they always played, but now accessible to the fans outside the underground scene in the U.S. In the capital of Brazil, a group of teenagers gathered in underground studios to listen to lo-fi tapes copied from friends who lived abroad and to produce their own songs, as truly punk amateur players. Influenced by American and English alternative bands like Joy Division, Buzzcocks, Addicts, The Ramones, Misfits, Fugazi, Helmet, Dead Kennedy's, Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Faith no More, and driven by the world success achieved by the Brazilian greatest rock band ever, Sepultura, the Succulent Fly was born as a way to express feelings, dreams and desires. And above all, there was the desire to rock. The desire to learn music by playing it, which took these young rockers to the path of punk rock. About 7 years later the Succulent Fly played a gig in Brasília with Fugazi, showing that the dream of punk rocking would never stop. Punk is not dead! The members grew older and the band split many times but, as true rockers know, there are bands which go on beyond its members... and stay alive because of some.
